So, ever since I fired all of the marketing companies people have been searching for the “Cobb Law Office”. It hasn't moved.
Back in the day, we used to have multiple offices across Florida. In reality, none of these are needed in today's world. The entire practice of law was reshaped in Florida in 2004 when several hurricanes, from Charley through Ivan (the National Hurricane Center ran out of names that year) destroyed a significant number of law offices, courthouses, local and state detention facilities along with several other law enforcement facilities.
Prior to 2004, when someone needed to sign a retention contract for legal services or a notarized document, this simple task meant a 20 to 40 minute drive in terrible traffic to the law firm. I should know: during the first 15 years of practice in five different courthouses located in four separate counties, there was a lot of driving.
Now, a witness can be interviewed in the privacy of their home if they happen to be a friendly one or in a deposition room for formal testimony if they are not. Documents which used to require a trip across town now can be signed digitally in several different ways. Minor court appearances can often be done remotely despite a significant number of backwards thinking judges who give the standard poor reasons for RTO.
So, in today's world we have one Cobb law office at 1992 Lewis Turner Blvd. in Fort Walton Beach. Generally, in person meetings are done in the courthouse consultation rooms if the case is in Crestview. We also have access to Main Street Suites across the street from the courthouse, which has a conference room.
In Fort Walton, I honestly think we need more courthouse consultation rooms because the entire building was cramped for space the day it opened. Therefore, most in person meetings are done at the Lewis Turner office for south end cases and this office is primarily used for testimonial practice. This exceptionally brutal but necessary preparation for trial testimony is something you should hope to avoid if at all possible. This type of practice is unlikely as the statistical likelihood is less than 1%.
Finally, no drop ins: all appointments are scheduled in advance after an online intake form has been completed.
