June is False Domestic Violence Charge Awareness month. Now, a lot of people say that domestic violence crimes are under report. Well here is what they are not talking about and you need to know about. Domestic violence crimes are also vastly over-reported. Someone gets into an argument and the next thing you know, they decide to win a custody battle or they decide to win a landlord/tenant dispute or some other type of in the household dispute by dialing 911. Somebody goes to jail and then the next thing you know is they’re talking to someone like me. Domestic violence allegations are very serious and domestic violent itself is very serious. But false domestic violence charges are damaging our faith in the system. If you know of someone considering a false domestic violence complaint, urge them to stop. And if they proceed with it, make your voice heard. False domestic violence claims are scourge on our society, they are damaging our legal system and we need to put an end to it now.
