Step 1: We Prepare a Report before You meet with a Florida Criminal Lawyer

We have consultations available in person or by phone.  Prior to discussing your case with a lawyer, you will be confidentially asked a few questions over the phone.  Next, a report will be prepared for the lawyer prior to your consultation. This report will help us help you.

Step 2: You Prepare a Report for your Florida Criminal Defense Lawyer

After your initial consultation, if we decide to take your case, we will ask for you to prepare a report over a four day period:

DAY 1 - You write down anything and everything you think is, or may be important to your attorney. Don't leave anything out. We would rather have a novel than the Reader's Digest. List all potential witnesses, their contact information, and what you think they would say they observed or know about the case. Each page should say "Attorney - Client Privilege Applies."

DAYS 2 & 3 - Take your report with you everywhere you go. As things you may have forgotten comeback to you, write them down as notes in the margins of your report.

Day 4 - Take your original report and the notes you have made and re-write the entire report. Obviously, this is easier for you and your lawyer if you use a computer and simply print it out.

Step 3: You Receive a Copy of all Discovery Documents and Have Access to any Electronic Evidence

After all discovery (including electronic discovery) has been reviewed, your report has been reviewed, and your notes (if any) regarding discovery have been reviewed, we may have a definitive legal opinion. Instead, we may need further discovery, depositions or other information. The time for your next appointment to discuss the case will usually be after the discovery process is completed. During this process, which can take several weeks to several months, we will keep you informed as your case progresses through the legal system.
